A Wedding with Radiance and Grace
Now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story no one on earth has ever read, which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before. –C.S. Lewis
My cousin Konrad married his beautiful bride, Laura Grace, this past weekend at the Stowe Manor in her home town of Belmont, North Carolina. A lavish affair it was.
Filled with joy and laughter,
nostalgia and sentimentalism,
and everything in between.
We filled our bellies and souls with Southern comfort food and charm. We sipped, noshed and grooved the night away.
Dress: Lilly Pulitzer; Shoes: Michael Koors; Jewlery: Stella & Dot
The bride’s elegant demeanor carried us through the weekend, starting with the bridal luncheon, where we lavishly lunched with the ladies.
With gifts and treats, the ohhs and ahhs were flowing.
Decadence and demure. Comfort married with grace and style.
The cake was out of this world- a most moist batter enveloped in vanilla buttercream icing with thin layers of tart berry filling. Laura Grace let the hostess pick the cake, and there was not an ounce of disappointment with the choosen local baker. #golocal
The bachelor’s radiant cake from the rehearsal dinner was quite tasty too with layers of immensely rich fondant icing covering a mix of chocolate and vanilla cake with layers of sweet icing for every bite. A sugar lover’s dream come true.
No detail was left untouched.
Best wishes to this adorable couple and happy honeymooning!
I think wedding guests should get post-wedding honeymoons too. The more celebrations the better, right? I’ll just be reminiscing on the delicious cakes and delectables until then.
Have a Marvelous rest of your Monday!
