Adventurous Races
Grab a lounge chair and a mint julep, yesterday was the annual Foxfield Horse races in Charlottesville.
The only thing missing were floppy hats, so we just let our dresses steal the show.
I’ve been trying to drink less these days, but the races are all about libations and celebrations. As long as lots of water is consumed, there’s nothing wrong with a day of wild and wonderful in the outdoors. #moderation
I’ll take any excuse to get a new Lilly dress.
Dress: Lily Pulitzer, Boots: Fryes, Jewlery: Stella and Dot
It’s all about colorful poses.
And of course we made time for a little horsing around.
I don’t know what I’d do without my best friends. True friends always have you in stitches of laughter.
Clad in festive frocks, sipping mimosas in the sun.
Occasionally we saw a horse fly by, reminding us we were at the races. The irony is that most people are too busy chatting, eating sipping and celebrating to notice the main event.
Cheers to seeing familiar faces, making new friends, and feeling jolly in the spring sun.
What a day. All the standing and walking around counted as my workout for the day. Today is all about lounging and relaxing after one exciting day of festivities.
It’s difficult coming down from an exciting day. From fast pace, to smooth and relaxed, the adjustment is a constant learning experience. It’s vital to stay calm and in the moment. I’m grateful for the less exciting parts of life because those times are what make us truly appreciate the high times. Adventure is what you make it and forever in your hands.
Happy Sunday!
