Vegas, Virgina and Viewpoints
I’m a total nut. No need for jelly. My weekends have been jam packed with Vegas and Virginia trips.
Catch my last trip to Vegas here.
My friend, Brittany and I flew Virgin Airlines to Vegas. Virgin really is a novelty and did not disappoint. Thank you Whitney for the reco! (I’m actually reading “Screw It, Let’s Do It” by Branson AND he was at Facebook this week.)
Before take off, we chilled in the terminal at Vino Volo for a champagne tasting. Classiness ensues before the Vegas.
Upon arrival, we wasted no time before hitting up the buffet.
Facebook Sweet Stop has trained me well for these ventures…
As Alan Watts said, “the only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. And that’s just what we did, hitting the club scene to see Zedd at the Encore with my cousin and friends. #clarity
Outfit: Sweater: Urban Outfitters; Shorts: H&M
A bunch of lights followed by a lot of brunch the next morning before jetting back to SF.
I touched down, had the MLK day to relax and hit it hard at work for the week before flying east to good ole’ Virgin-i-a.
Never over the hump of novelty, I’m constantly on the run. It’s funny how the incessant going adds fear to leisure. I literally forget how to relax.
“Happiness consists in realizing it is all a great strange dream.”
We’re always searching for the next thing because that’s what living is.
My mom advises nurturing over double-burning the candle. My dad says “some people are always chasing happiness; others seem to have it by their side and make the best of things. Understanding our emotional tendencies to change is the first step in changing.”
Over the summer, I was laying in the Nigev desert in Israel looking up in the stars. I let my eyes glide from star to star, letting my brain etch over making sense of it all. I found my eyes selecting a cluster of stars to focus on and study. What do your eyes see? You inherently have that control (whether you know it or not) to draw lines from star to star and create your own astrological art.
Just like my desert night discovery, the same is true right now. Chose your mindset. Do it for your contentment.
Talk about it. Like hard candy, the reward is sweet. It seems simple, but being able to talk about feelings has taken me years to grasp. It’s a cathartic crucial cleansing process; otherwise the craze comes over and the sense of control is lost.
Honesty. Understanding. Gratitude. Empathy. HUGE

Is this a lasting treasure/Or just a moment’s pleasure?
California I’m coming home
Oh will you take me as I am
Oh it gets so lonely
When you’re walking
And the streets are full of strangers
All the news of home you read
More about the war
And the bloody changes
Oh will you take me as I am?
Will you take me as I am?
Will you?
My thoughtful co-worker gave me some sound advice the other day, “maybe stick to one thought and unpack it, because they’re all heavy suitcases.”
Oh, but I just can’t decide on one outfit.
“One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple.”

…Have a good night. 🙂
