Tick Tock Goes the Clock
“I am interested in the relation between information and knowledge, the ways in which experience and experiment might link them, so that facts are converted into what Gertrude Stein called “useful knowledge.”
We need to be careful not to mistake new technology for new knowledge.
To experiment means you must put what you know at risk to what you do not yet know.”
-Ann Lauterbach
What?
Like fruit, let clarity ripen.
A fixed position before indulgence.
It’s best to give something time before acting. If something in your life doesn’t make sense, hold on, because coherence never seems to hurry.
“Art isn’t everything. It’s just about everything.”
-GS
“If you enjoy it, you understand it.”
-Gertrude Stein
“In any case, I do like to wander in language to the point of getting lost, to follow the lead of the sentence to see where it will take me: call it, if you like, a search for a quotidian sublime.”
-Ann Lauterbach
So what was I saying?
Oh yeah, that whole give it time concept. 😉
To let time comfortably run it’s course:
- Put one hand on your chest and the other on your belly.
- Breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds.
- Hold for 7 seconds.
- Exhale slowly through your mouth for 8 seconds.
- Repeat 3 times.
“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
-J.R.R. Tolkien
It’s not about “having” time. It’s about making time.
