A Going Away Party
Have you ever been part of a really awesome group?
An athletic soccer team, an exceptional band, the cool high schoolers (hm, this one’s debatable), Greek life, an exciting club.
Whatever the organization, it feels good to be accepted in a group, especially a group of incredibly talented, driven and hard working individuals.
“I like when I don’t have to be with careful what I say. That’s when you know you’re with the right people.”
Last Thursday was my last day contracting with the Product Data Integrity team at Facebook. I felt a range of emotion.
“Sometimes the fear won’t go away so you’ll have to do it afraid.”
I can’t even describe these people in one word because they’re all so different and bring crazy talents to the tables. We’ve got musicians in the forms of singers and DJs, artists, photographers, writers, podcasters, business owners, fitness stars, exceptional educators, fashion forward style rulers, business owners, comedians, creative directors, students, snapchat connoisseurs, athletes, estheticians, bakers….The list literally goes on.
(That list took me all of 30 seconds to create so you can imagine the type of talent here.)
A girl from the east coast moves out here not knowing anyone- these people are now part of my life.
Seriously, thank goodness for Facebook so that we can continue to stay in touch. #siliconvalley
“Never say goodbye because saying goodbye means going away and going away means forgetting.”
-Peter Pan
I may have left the team, but the friendships aren’t going anywhere, that’s for sure.
PDI, thanks for being one hell of a squad!
Oh and thanks for one of the coolest surprise going away parties of my life. A selfie booth, cookies, cool people, dance music, and photos. Yas!
“We all take different paths in life but no matter where we go, we all take a little of each other everywhere we go.”
For those I didn’t get to say bye to, I don’t have to because yass social media.
Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you, until we meet again!
