East Meets West
Guess HOO came for a visit this past week?
Usually a plan-as-I-go-wherever-that-may-be type, I went full on event planner style to prepare for my parents’ arrival.
We did 3 days in the Bay Area, 2 days downtown in the city and 1 day in wine country.
They arrived Thursday afternoon and I had a little extra energy in my pedal home to see them! Three months of not seeing your parents is torture. I hardly recognized them. It must have been all those gym workouts. 😉
We headed downtown to Roberto’s Cantina for drinks and margs. The next day, I gave them the big bad tour of Facebook before going to Palo Alto for dinner at Oren’s Hummus (I gave it a 5 star Yelp rating- that good!) and drinks with friends.
On Saturday, we checked out the Sunnyvale Farmers Market before making the trek to the Pacific coast for lunch with our cousins.
We were planning to hit the beach for the remainder of the weekend, but the poor weather made us reconsider. Instead we drove north to the city in Union Square, SF at the Palomar where I ordered a pet fish for our room. Who says you can’t have it all?
We got our tourist on, trekking the streets of San Francisco. I even busted out the selfie stick.

After 2 days of the chaotic city, my parents were ready for a break, so we headed to the Inn at Sonoma for wine tasting in the vineyards, stopping in Sausalito the following day.

There’s nothing like a family trip, and a fun one it was.
Mom & Dad, thanks for coming to visit me. I hope you enjoyed my long itinerary and I was so happy to have you guys out here, especially on Mother’s Day. Can’t wait to see you in a couple months back on the easy coast. xoxo
What’s the longest you’ve gone without seeing your family?
