A Trip to Winston Salem
A weekend of friendship.
Even when your best gang flocks away, you can always pick up quacking right where you left off.
This weekend, I went down with my friend Sara to visit one of our best friends at Wake Forest grad school in North Carolina. In between eating and drinking, we squeezed in a 7 mile trail run at this gorgeous space.
We arrived in Winston Salem on Friday afternoon and wasted no time before hitting a Mexican restaurant, one of our signature moves.
We came back to Jeanna’s place and pregamed a night of dancing with a little yoga, naturally.
Jeanna got her exercise in later too… 😉
We sipped, chatted and grooved through the night.
I woke up luridly lethargic on Saturday, but thanks to the girls’ motivation, I got my butt on the trails for a long run.
After the struggle, we soaked in spirits at a local vineyard.
My favorite tasting was the sweet blueberry flavored wine paired with a piece of 50% dark chocolate.
The marriage of tart and rich decadence was quite delectable.
After the wine tasting, we found our appetites desiring sweet seafood at King Crab Shack in downtown Winston Salem.
Buttery, salty, savory and delicious.
As it always goes, Sunday morning came quicker than we wanted, and it was time to head home, but not before fueling up at Breakfastime. #omeletsallday
Thanks Winston Salem for letting us carolina on through!
And that’s a Marvelous Monday!
How’s your week going so far? Any best friend outings planned?
