What a whirlwind of a weekend!
On Friday, I came home and whipped up a quick and easy meal for dinner. I cooked the chicken in soy sauce, pepper, and red pepper and topped it off with spinach and a little more soy sauce.
Then it was onto the festivities. My friends and I threw on our boots and got ready for a night out.
On Saturday I hit the gym for a cardio session and jammed out to my new playlist on the elliptical. Listening to music is the way to get through any workout. After the gym, I did some yoga poses (I’m a big fan of shoulder stand), showered, and happily lounged on the couch watching The Hills with my roommate. Quality tv, I know! Later in the afternoon, one of my best friends arrived to stay with us for the weekend. We went to McGrady’s Pub for dinner and drinks.
For some reason, I thought ordering a veggie panini at a standard bar restaurant would be a grand idea. It wasn’t very good but I liked the fries!
The next morning, my friend and I cooked a nice breakfast to enjoy. She handled the eggs and I was in charge of the bacon and toast.
My friend Jeanna had never been wine tasting but has wanted to go for a while so we headed to King FamilyVineyardsΒ that afternoon. π
After our tasting, it was time to get ready for the commercial party Super Bowl feast!
We all made dishes to share and I decided to create a caprese dip that I found on Pinterest.
It wasn’t as pretty but everyone agreed that it tasted great. We had macaroni and cheese bites, 7 layer dip, mini hot dogs…
And the best part of the evening…
You know you’ve got great friends when they offer up some cookie dough.
My friend Sara made these amazing chocolate chip cookie dough oreo brownies. I literally wanted to eat the entire batch because they were so delicious. I had to refrain from eating all of them and managed to have just 2! Woo!
Hope everyone had a great weekend filled with delicious super bowl foods.
