Grateful Isn’t Dead
The other day I came home and saw my roommate writing something on a piece of paper.
That’s a strange sight to see out here in Silicon Valley where almost everything is digitized. I asked him what he was writing and he said something along the lines of “some silly daily motivational question thing.”
He was answering questions to things like:
What were 3 things that made today great?
What are you grateful for today?
What will make tomorrow great?
How can you make tomorrow even better?
The tables turned, and I got to answer the “silly” questions.
During the debriefing and even hours after, I felt more grateful. Forcing yourself to emphasize the good parts of life defines optimism.
Not so silly, huh? 😉
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast,
a house into a home,
a stranger into a friend.
Let us be grateful to people who make us happy. They are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world.
Now it’s your turn, What are you grateful for today?
