A Facebook Holiday Party

“Well the first days are the hardest days, don’t you worry any more.” Just as life goes, things have started to settle and the feeling of a comfortable home have quietly emerged. It’s all in the time, it seems.

I bent over backwards to finish my work before the Facebook Christmas party at At&T Park this past Friday.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.”

It might look like a walk in the park, but it’s that and so much more. The SF Gate words it perfectly in this article, “Facebook’s Main Street feels like an amusement park.” It’s no wonder we get the best collaborative, uninhibited range of forward thinking ideas. I’m in the hub of freedom birthed by originality.

Wired describes the Amazing Murals here. I take murals of my food, as usual.

You can find food from all over the world here. Seriously. It’s a foodie’s dream and nightmare. 😉

Cruising through the work week.

They see me rollin’ they hatin’

Passing through the huge land masses make us feel small.
A materanl affect that we so crave.
Large land masses help us feel nurtured.

You like my bright yellow bike?
Much faster than taking a hike

Everyone can clearly see me.

I even wear my helmet like a big nerd. Safety first, I make it a habit, just like stuntin’.

I left my bike on campus for the weekend and caught the bus into the city to get ready for the lavish holiday party of the year.

“The more you sense the rareness and value of your own life, the more you realize that how you use it, how you manifest it, is all your responsibility. We face such a big task, so naturally we sit down for a while.”

We were thrilled to get invited to the illusory, much-anticipated Facebook Holiday party.

Why did the picture go to jail?
Because it got framed.

“Oh cool, the company rented out the AT&T private boxes for the holiday party?”

“No, the whole stadium.”

The dance tent was located on the field, accompanied with eats and spirits.

We grooved and made moves.

I’m not even a baseball fan (see my other trips), but the stadium was quite a spectacle.

Of course, I got on a first name basis with the dessert table.

Comment allez vous?

After an exhilarating night of stadium lights, I was ready for a long night of slumber, followed by a big brunch in the Fillmore at Palmer’s Tavern.

I ordered the Brioche French Toast served with housemade strawberry mascarpone, topped with mixed berries and Canadian maple syrup. A brunch fit for the worldliest of taste buds.

Moves were made through the city of San Francisco.

It’s still San Francisco alright.san_francisco_photos

I cruised the streets of Chinatown aimlessly. There’s something so satisfying about walking alone in a large, unfamiliar space without a direct plan.

Eventually, I met up with a very familiar face for a giant tacky Christmas sweater pub crawl. Oh the adventures you can discover in a city with a somewhat fearless mindset. #goHoos

Spontaneity interlaced with exciting expectations make for a charming day.

New friends, conversations, footprints all swirled with the Food Network’s most spectacular Mai Tai concoction.

I bid a farewell, and booked it to the Cal Train (public transportation). I was advised to take an Uber or Lyft (taxi), but I decided my feet couldn’t fail me, so I opted to walk. Walking is the best way to learn new surroundings while also getting some exercise and saving money on cab fair. Win win.

My cousins live in the bay area and I was invited to their house for a delicious vegetarian dinner in a comforting home. There’s nothing like a home cooked family dinner.

I love the weekends leading up to the December holidays.

You never know what holiday party sighting or tacky-sweater-clad-friend you may encounter!
