‘Cause I’m leavin’ on a jet plane
Don’t know when I’ll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go
There is something beautiful in the disconsolate feelings that arise from leaving. Emotions are heightened, nerves are tight, yet excitement looms in the uncertainty that is to come.
Well, the time has come to say farewell to my small, yet open-minded and innovative city of Charlottesville, Virginia.
Even though I’ve been traveling a lot, Charlottesville has been my home (well, my second home after my parents’ place, of course) for several years.
I adore this beautiful city and the friendships I’ve made here to last a lifetime.
My homage to Charlottesville collage is only a small representation of the love I have for this artsy city.
And thank goodness, my all-over health and fitness passion also ignited here.
I’ve truly enjoyed living here after graduating, but my constant craving for new learning experiences is calling.
In true yogi form, I’ve decided to jump on tour with a marching band for the next six weeks serving as the marketing and social media coordinator. I’ll be traveling all over America, so buckle up baby, we’re doin’ it big.
Currently I’m nestled away at my parents’ place until I fly out to California on Tuesday to begin my journey. It still hasn’t quite hit me that my last weekend as a C’ville resident is over.
Weekends full of zeal. Happiness to feel.
It’s not goodbye, just so long for now.
You know I didn’t pack up and leave without grabbing one last bite at Basil.
Toasted crostini bathed in a honey and balsamic reduction topped with sweet dates, salty walnuts, and savory bleu cheese crumbles.
The perfect way to end a day of packing, especially on Father’s Day.
Cville, you’re forever be in my heart. Wahoo wa baby!
When was your last move? Thoughts on road trips?
