When it comes to finding a filling and nutritious breakfast, you can’t go wrong with oatmeal….
I jump started my morning with a big bowl of oatmeal and brown sugar. Probably a little too much brown sugar but hey, who’s counting?
To accompany my oats, I had a glass of water and friendship tea that I got from my Mom. Water is the only thing I drink (besides wine) so the fruity tea was a nice change this morning. 😉
Lately, oatmeal has been my go to meal for breakfast. It’s so simple and can be eaten so many ways. Of course, I love mine with heapings of sugar but it’s also really good with nut butters, yogurt, fruit, etc.
It’s so weird to think that I hated breakfast as a kid. It seems like most kids don’t enjoy breakfast so perhaps we just learn to condition our appetite to love breakfast throughout the years. I can’t imagine leaving the house without something to eat in the AM.
What’s your favorite meal for breakfast? Any healthy bloggers dislike breakfast? Not me!
I loved everyone’s comments about running tips from yesterday’s post! After work, I went home and jumped into my workout clothes before getting too comfortable and headed to the gym with my iPod packed with new songs. Suffice it to say, going to the gym straight from work is the best because I’m ready to workout yet still have the whole evening ahead of me to relax. I ran on the treadmill and it was a killer workout. I don’t know why I’ve been avoiding that bad boy for so long. I came home, did some stretching and shoulder stands, showered, and fixed dinner.
It tasted as good as it looked too. Salsa as salad dressing is so delicious. I sent this picture to my boyfriend, Lee and he had quite the “compliment”!
Little does he know I’m on my way to becoming a master chef! 😉
Today is actually our 2 year anniversary so we are going out to dinner this evening. I squeezed a short yoga workout in this morning after diving into my bowl of oats.
Is it terrible that I’ve been measuring out less oats so that I don’t feel so guilty about the tasty brown sugar? Oops!
Question of the day: What is your favorite song of the moment to listen to while busting it in the gym?
My iPod totally got me through my treadmill workout. I’m currently loving the Red Hot Chili Peppers and random hip hop songs from the 2000s. Ja Rule anyone?
I’ve been on a major oatmeal for breakfast kick for a couple weeks. Something about the cold weather makes a warm bowl of oats a pleasant way to wake up.
Just kidding- my food only dreams of being so pretty!
Oh well, at least they taste good! Check out the pretty oatmeal link for tons of great oatmeal recipes. My go-to is oats with crunchy peanut butter and brown sugar. I’m slowly trying to add less brown sugar but it just tastes so good!
My oats were enjoyed post workout. I was greeted with an inch of snow this morning on my way out to the gym.
I did 25 minutes of light incline walking on the treadmill followed by 10 minutes of higher intensity cardio on the elliptical. Then I finished up with bicep curls, jumping jacks, and crunches. It was nice to check off my workout so early in the morning before the sun came up.
