Learning Magic: A Glimpse

What happens when you have trouble identifying the problem?

The issue at hand is clear but the fixing solution is fuzzy. You’re not only invested, you’re completely covered and enveloped in the problem.

There are always options even when we don’t necessarily see them, like breathing techniques, mindful thinking, getting outside, talking it out…

So many thoughts. So many activities.

When trying to accomplish a task, use your inner powers to get there.

I just finished reading Into the Magic Shop: A Neurosurgeon’s Quest to Discover the Mysteries of the Brain and the Secrets of the Heart and I have to leave you with some of my favorite pieces.

Quite mind blowing.

Each of us in our lives experiences situations that cause pain
I call them wounds of the heart.
If you ignore them, they won’t heal
But sometimes when our hearts are wounded that’s when they are open.
Frequently it is the wounds of the heart that give us the greatest opportunity to grow.
Difficult situations
Magic gift.

Let’s treat mental and physical health equally.

According to James, the strategy goes a little something like this:

  1. Lie down and relax each body part starting from the toes all the way to the head
  2. Clear the mind using a mantra if prefered
  3. Reflect on loving someone and someone loving you
  4. Picture yourself achieving a specific goal. Go into as many details as possible
  5. ~*~Magic happens~*~

Close your eyes, relax the body, pick a mantra to repeat, open your heart and envision your next goal. YOU got this. 🙂
