Walkin’ in Memphis

Put on my blue suede shoes and
I boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain

I flew in to Memphis today to do a little soul traveling with Grant for a few days.

I’m typically not a coffee/caffeine drinker, but when flying through bitter cold airports, a warm cup of a chai tea latte warms my bones.

Comfort is idealized in the south, so keeping in sync, we hit Blue Plate in Memphis for brunch.

Cheesy omelets and mouth-watering hash browns. Warm banana pancakes drizzled in crunchy peanut butter syrup.

Bring on the extremities of sugar crystals and fluffy butter, so long as it’s only temporary and in served in moderation.

Over a heavenly brunch, we discussed how artists bend, stretch and contort their minds to new extremes.

Our minds deteriorate through neglect. We don’t challenge our brains when we are too in routine. When we take a risk trying something new, our world expands. Fit creativity and novelty into your routines by step outside of yourself.

Routine can easily become the opposite of learning.

Make time for creation.

bloggerI am therefore I am, not I think therefore I am. If you feel compelled to create something, you are an artist in that moment, and can forever be one.

Fight stagnation, choose to be.

It will only set you free.

What is your I am? What medium of creativity are you looking to improve?
