Do Hold Your Breath

One of my co-workers asked why yogis practice holding their breath.

Gasp- good question.

Oddly enough, I’ve never questioned it, but it is a strange concept.

Think of your breath like a cell phone.

When your phone goes awry, what do you do?┬áMaybe you delete apps, restart the phone, remove the case, shake it up…

You do something different to get the energy flowing. I like to take this concept to the extreme. čśë

It’s easy to get stuck in our heads with work and worries. Holding your breath helps you realize that the only real chore you have for the day is to breathe. Just breathe. And meditation┬áis cool too.

Technology is best when it brings people together.”

Some may see social media as an amplifier for such breaths of fresh air.

(Gretchen Rubin, author of The Happiness Project, came to speak at Facebook last week.)

Technology is nothing. What’s important is that you have a faith in people, that they’re basically good and smart, and if you give them tools, they’ll do wonderful things with them.”

I ALWAYS HOLD MY BREATH! LOL! When I do pilates, it’s all about making weird breathing noises like you’re giving birth – but I honestly feel like an asshole when I do that. So I hold it all in… Plus, I don’t really know how to do 2 things at once, so I just focus on how much the work out SUCKS and forget that breathing helps! BAHHH HA HA HA HA!
